About
We believe the best music library is the one you own.
Tyche is a local-first player for collecting, organising, and carrying your music across devices.
Why Tyche
Streaming made music endless.
We missed having a collection.
Tyche started with a simple frustration: the albums we cared about were scattered across folders, devices, and apps that treated ownership as an edge case.
So we are building a player around the files you already have. It gives them a thoughtful home, keeps them private, and makes them easy to take with you.
Our principles
Built around
what matters.
Ownership first
Your collection should not depend on a subscription, a catalog agreement, or an internet connection.
Private by design
Listening is personal. Tyche keeps your library and history close, sharing only what you choose.
Made to endure
A music library grows over years. The player around it should feel dependable, clear, and worth keeping.
Open by nature
The player is open source. Its direction is open, too.
Tyche is developed in public. Follow the work, report an issue, or help shape a music player that puts listeners before platforms.
