Information we handle

Depending on the features you use, Tyche may handle the following information:

  • Account information: your email address, password hash, account status, and email verification state.
  • Device information: a Tyche installation identifier, device platform, optional device name, and session activity used to secure your account.
  • Library information: album, track, artist, playlist, rating, favorite, artwork, and listening-history data that you create or import.
  • Cloud library information: if you enable cloud features, the music metadata and artwork you choose to publish to your account. Audio files remain on your devices unless a feature explicitly says otherwise.
  • Technical information: limited logs and diagnostic information needed to keep the website and services secure and reliable.

Tyche is local-first. Your local library and listening history are designed to stay on your device unless you choose a feature that sends information to a Tyche service.

How we use information

We use information to provide the features you request, authenticate your account, sync selected library data, manage connected devices, protect the service, respond to support requests, and improve reliability.

We do not sell your personal information or use your listening history to build an advertising profile.

When information is shared

Tyche may rely on carefully selected infrastructure providers for hosting, storage, email delivery, and security. They process information only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the service, our users, or other people.

Information in your library is not made public by default. Any sharing or party feature is initiated by you and limited to the information needed for that feature.

Retention and security

We keep account and service information while it is needed to operate your account, provide the features you use, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can manage connected devices and delete your account from Tyche. Account deletion is described on our Account deletion page. You can also contact us through the Tyche issue tracker about a privacy question or request.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or object to the processing of your personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Tyche evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and provide a notice in the product or on the website when appropriate.
